Idempotent and safe to poll: it finds the LATEST analysed upload (so a re-upload supersedes the cached one), copies the derived fields across, and NEVER overwrites a field you edited yourself. synced: false with a message means the pipeline has not finished, not that anything failed.

This is what produces the certification score, and the score is the third gate on being visible to buyers - which is why the sync is a call you can make rather than something to wait on.
