GloFAS river discharge forecast (deterministic)

Daily river discharge forecast up to 30 days from GloFAS v4 (Global Flood Awareness System, Copernicus / ECMWF) served via Open-Meteo. Returns m3/s per day at the grid cell nearest to the supplied coordinates. Optional percentile bands and retrospective past_days lookback to 92 days. Data by Open-Meteo.com, CC BY 4.0.

Query parameters

latitudenumber nullable

Latitude in decimal degrees (-90 to 90). Provide latitude+longitude OR river.

longitudenumber nullable

Longitude in decimal degrees (-180 to 180). Provide latitude+longitude OR river.

riverstring nullable

River name as an alternative to latitude+longitude. Curated rivers resolve to a validated GloFAS-mainstem cell; others fall back to the geocoder.

forecast_daysinteger

Forecast horizon in days (1-30 for deterministic).

past_daysinteger

Historical lookback in days (0-92).

dailystring

Comma-separated list of daily variables. Allowed: river_discharge, river_discharge_mean, river_discharge_median, river_discharge_max, river_discharge_min, river_discharge_p25, river_discharge_p75.

cell_selectionstring nullable

Grid-cell selection strategy: nearest (default), land, or sea.

Response

Daily deterministic river discharge with optional percentile bands.
