Pipelines in a country by commodity (deprecated - upstream too slow)

Return OpenStreetMap pipeline elements (man_made=pipeline filtered by substance) inside an ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country. Data is (C) OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL 1.0) - attribution is required on any surface that renders this data.

Deprecated because the upstream cannot serve it reliably inside an interactive timeout, not because it is being removed. A country-wide man_made=pipeline query takes 23-49 seconds at the public Overpass instance when it succeeds at all, and frequently returns a query-timeout or a 5xx under load: 0 of 3 end-to-end attempts on 2026-08-30 returned data. It is marked deprecated so interactive surfaces stop offering a call that cannot reliably finish inside an interactive timeout; the route still works and is still served. For a usable pipeline query, request a bounded region with /environment/osm/bbox (tag_key=man_made, tag_value=pipeline), which is capped at 1.0 square degree per call and answered a 1x1-degree box over the Houston and Permian pipeline corridors in 2.8s and 1.0s. Larger areas are covered by tiling that call, not by asking for a country in one request.
