Population projections (Medium variant default)

Population projections from UN DESA World Population Prospects 2024 (indicator id 49 - TPopulation) through 2100. variant selects the projection assumption set: 1 = Low, 2 = High, 3 = Constant fertility, 4 = Medium (default), 8 = No change. Default range is current_year - 5 through current_year + 50.

Query parameters

locationstring required

Country or area as ISO3 (USA), ISO2 (US), or M49 numeric (840).

start_yearinteger nullable

Start year of the requested range (YYYY). Defaults to current_year - 5.

end_yearinteger nullable

End year of the requested range (YYYY). Defaults to current_year + 50.

variantinteger

Projection variant id. 1=Low, 2=High, 3=Constant fertility, 4=Medium (default), 5=Instant replacement, 6=Zero migration, 7=Constant mortality, 8=No change, 9=Momentum.

Projected total population rows by year.
