The reverse walk: GENESIS answers which objects contain this variable. Fans out over catalogue/tables2variable, cubes2variable, statistics2variable and timeseries2variable, one call per kind, never concurrently, and labels each hit with what it is. A code absent from the committed snapshot is 404 without a GENESIS call. Caller-selected code: striped longtail_lock with reserved wait. A cache hit is free. Every answer says whether it is the whole match.
