Alpha Backtest

Run a FRESH backtest for a deployed alpha's current spec, on demand.

Saves the run to the caller's vega_backtests (so it lists under GET /v1/backtests) and returns the {run_id, status} handle to poll via GET /v1/backtests/{run_id} — the same async contract as POST /v1/backtests. The verdict this produces is ADVISORY only; it never changes the deployment's mode or status (the engine advises, the user decides).

Deploy-first: a strategy deployed with NO 'backtest' window still grades — the run fills the full honest data window (WINDOW_START..WINDOW_END), like the deployment grading job. Owner/desk-pair scoped (404 cross-desk).
