302 to Google's consent screen with fresh state+nonce, both pinned in a signed, httpOnly, 10-minute cookie that only /v1/auth/google/* receives.

anon (optional) is the browser's own analytics id, parked in a second short-lived cookie so the callback can run the anon→member claim for a NEW member — see _ANON_COOKIE. It is never read as identity.
