Create Family Link

Create a family link between two people (user or placeholder). Also creates the reciprocal link automatically. Private by default — never exposed publicly without explicit scope change.

2026-05-27 — P0 child-safety guard. The family_links table is for ADULT family graph (spouse, co-parent, sibling, parent, grandparent). Under-18 accounts must not be able to add adult family members; the Family page's "Add spouse, co-parent, or other adult family member" block was being rendered on a 13-year-old account because the endpoint had no caller-age check. Blocked here at the API layer so a missing FE gate cannot leak the path.
