Create Spontaneous Activity

Quick-create a spontaneous activity. Minimal fields required.

Lifecycle (product rule 2026-04-22):

  • expires_at starts at NOW() + 60 minutes (rolling inactivity window)
  • Every interaction (join / chat post / detail view) extends expires_at by another 60 minutes from the moment of interaction (services/spontaneous_lifecycle.bump_spontaneous_heartbeat)
  • When current_participants reaches max_participants, expires_at is set to NOW() so the activity drops out of every broadcast surface (services/spontaneous_lifecycle.expire_spontaneous_now)
  • Attendees retain access via direct links to the detail page + chat
