Old Style / New Style Dating (新舊曆法轉換)
OLD STYLE / NEW STYLE DATING and the ENGLISH CALENDAR REFORM OF 1752 — the double-dated world of the English archives: until 1752 England and its colonies kept the JULIAN calendar with the legal year turning on LADY DAY (25 March), so a winter date carried two years at once ('11 February 1731/32') and every English document before the reform must be read through this lens. THE WASHINGTON ANCHOR is the textbook case, a load law: born 11 February 1731 (OS, legal year) = 22 February 1732 (NS) — why the United States celebrates the 22nd. THE REFORM AS LAWS, all derived from the shared Julian machinery: 1751 a SHORT YEAR of exactly 282 days; ELEVEN DAYS VANISHED that September — Wednesday 2 September followed by Thursday 14 September, consecutive real days, weekdays asserted; the 'Give us our eleven days!' riots served as the largely-MYTH they are. Converts BOTH directions with the double-dated form rendered; Scotland's 1600 half-step disclosed; and the same machinery derives why the OCTOBER Revolution is celebrated in NOVEMBER (Julian 25 Oct 1917 = 7 Nov). Western becomes forty-seven. Pure compute, no LLM.
