The response (~53 KB, the largest still-uncompressed client-critical Panchang payload) is gzip-negotiated via the audited _json_response_maybe_gzip helper (compressed only when the client sends Accept-Encoding: gzip and the body clears the size threshold); decompressed it is byte-identical to the plain JSON dict. This route has no internal callers, so it wraps its returns directly — no compute/route split is needed.
