Planetary Positions
Where every body is at an instant, with NO birth data and no place required: the Sun, Moon, the eight planets and the two lunar nodes, each with its ecliptic longitude, sign and degree in both the tropical and the sidereal zodiac, its ecliptic latitude, its longitude speed in degrees per day, whether it is retrograde, and its distance. This is the endpoint for "what sign is Venus in" and "where is Mercury right now". A place is optional and buys rise and set times and nothing else — a geocentric longitude is the same for every observer on Earth. The retrogradeNow roll-up counts the same eight stationing bodies that /api/public/retrogrades counts, so the two return the same list for the same instant; the two lunar nodes, which move backwards every day, are reported on their own in alwaysRetrograde.

Query parameters
The date, YYYY-MM-DD, between 1700 and 2200.
Time of day, HH:MM, UTC — not a local time and not a birth time. Omit it for 00:00 UTC. Send it for the Moon, which moves about half a degree an hour.
Town or city of an observer. Optional, and it changes nothing about any longitude, sign or degree — it adds rise and set times for each body at those coordinates. Not required if lat and lon are given.
Latitude in decimal degrees. Must be given together with lon.
Longitude in decimal degrees. Must be given together with lat.
IANA zone name, or a numeric UTC offset in hours, for the local rise and set times.
