Events ranked by how much media attention they are getting in the window, from the GDELT Mentions stream. Each event carries its mention count, distinct outlet count, up to five outlet names, up to five article links, average tone, and first/last seen time. Join global_event_id back to /gdelt/recent for event detail. period=1h reads the rolling window; 6h/24h merge daily shards. Omit lang, or pass en, eng, or english, for the English mentions file. A two-letter code maps onto a stored code. One of the 15 stored source languages ranks the translation mentions.
