Yellow Emperor Era (黃帝紀元) (黃帝紀元)
THE YELLOW EMPEROR ERA (黃帝紀元/軒轅紀年) — the era of Chinese civilization itself: years counted from the legendary accession of Huangdi, to whom tradition ascribes the calendar and the sexagenary cycle — a LEGENDARY epoch wielded as a REAL political instrument: the anti-Qing revolutionaries dated their proclamations by it to declare the nation older than any dynasty, and Sun Yat-sen's founding of the Republic (1 January 1912) was proclaimed in YEAR 4609 — the anchor served here (CE + 2697; 2026 = 4723). THE JIAZI THEOREM is the proof: tradition says Huangdi's calendar opened with a 甲子 year, and the Jesuit epoch of 2697 BC passes BY ARITHMETIC — 1984 was jiǎzǐ and 1984 + 2696 = 4680 = 78 × 60 exactly, the epoch precisely 78 cycles before it — while the rival 2698 BC epoch provably MISSES jiǎzǐ, which is exactly why the purists prefer 2697; both facts load laws. THE ERA'S OWN CHAOS SERVED AS HISTORY: the 1911 revolutionary press printed competing Huangdi years for the same season, and the two living epochs still put published tables one year apart — the seam disclosed, the Sun Yat-sen line served as primary because his proclamation is the one unambiguous anchor. Lunar year-boundary caveat carried. Eastern becomes sixty-nine. Pure compute, no LLM.
