Save a Search Console note

Save a Search Console note for a site (a change made on a day or over a range, and which pages it concerns), as a new note at version 1 or, with id and expected_version, as the next version of one. Save only what your human asked for. The test's window is chosen here and stored with the note. A pages scope is normalized and checked under the site's properties; an address Google has not listed yet is saved with a warning in warnings. A group scope stores the group's conditions as they are now (rebind on a re-save measures it as it is now). A version written since is VERSION_CONFLICT: read again. Limits: title 120 characters, description 2,000, a range of at most 90 days, 1 to 100 pages. Another site's note is NOT_FOUND. Paid (notes): BILLING_REQUIRED on a site not paid for. Next: gsc_notes_test once its window has closed.

Request

  • Base URL: https://frontshelf.io/api
  • URL: https://frontshelf.io/api/v1/sites/{site}/search/notes
  • Auth: HTTP bearer

Path parameters

sitestring required

Site ID (site_…), origin (https://example.com), or bare domain, resolved server-side; the response carries the canonical ID.

Request body

idstring

An existing note's id (snote_…) to save a new version of; omit to create one.

expected_versioninteger

With id: the version you read (gsc_notes_list). Required of an agent key; a version someone has written since is VERSION_CONFLICT and nothing is saved.

startstring required

The day of the change (YYYY-MM-DD), or the first day of a range.

endstring

The last day of a range (at most 90 days); omit for a single day. The days of the change belong to neither side of the test.

titlestring required

What changed, in 1 to 120 characters.

descriptionstring

More detail, up to 2,000 characters.

window_days7 | 14 | 28 | 56

How many days each side the test compares: 7, 14, 28 (default) or 56. A shorter window gives a verdict sooner but sees only large changes. Stored with the note, so its verdict never moves because a setting changed.

rebindboolean

On a re-save naming the SAME group as stored: true measures the group as it is now (the verdict may change); omitted or false keeps the conditions the note stored. A new note, or another group, always binds that group's current conditions.

dry_runboolean

true: check the call and say what it would do, without doing it.

confirmboolean

true: go ahead with a change that asks for confirmation.
