Market statistics for a slice

Counted over LISTINGS. n, the breakdown counts and the price/mileage averages weight a vehicle once per listing, so a car posted at six locations weighs six times. The MCP market_stats tool answers the same question per VEHICLE and its averages sit slightly lower as a result. Both are correct for what they count. Supports proximity: near + radius_km answer "median price of a Civic within 50 km of Calgary" in one call. Aggregates return no individual vehicle, so this endpoint discloses nothing and is the cheapest way to ask a radius question.

Query parameters

makestring
modelstring
provincestring
year_mininteger
year_maxinteger
nearstring

Proximity anchor: a Canadian city ("Edmonton"), a postal code or FSA ("T5J 0N3", "T5J"), or explicit coordinates ("53.5461,-113.4938"). Use this for any distance question instead of guessing which towns surround a city — one call covers the whole circle. Pair with radius_km. Every result carries distance_km, and the response's geo block reports the anchor actually used and the share of the corpus that has dealer coordinates at all (~99.2%); listings without them cannot match a radius and are excluded.

radius_kmnumber

Search radius in kilometres around near. Default 25, maximum 500 — past that use province=. Requires near.

condition'New' | 'Used' | 'Certified' | 'Demo'

New, Used, Certified or Demo. Never quote a typical price for a slice that mixes New and Used: when it does and no condition is given, the response carries condition_note.

group_bystring

Break the answer down in THIS call by one or two of city, trim, year, condition, comma-separated (group_by=city,trim). Each group returns n (LISTINGS on this endpoint), priced/unpriced, avg/median/min/max price, avg mileage and low_sample (n < 5); groups without a condition dimension also carry new_n/used_n, and with near set approx_location_n counts listings at rooftops placed at their city's centre point. Groups are sorted by n; the top 25 are listed and the rest are re-aggregated into one Other group, so every breakdown sums exactly to summary.n (see sum_check). city needs province or near; trim needs make and model and uses the canonical trim confirmed by the dealer or the VIN (Unknown trim otherwise; trim_coverage_pct reports the confirmed share). City names are folded per province (accents, St./Saint, punctuation); suburbs stay their own municipality. No extra charge.

Response

Counts, avg/median price, avg mileage, condition + province breakdowns; with group_by, groups (+ groups_total, other_n, sum_check, trim_coverage_pct)
