Create Workspace

Create a new workspace for the current organization.

Workspaces are implemented as separate organizations with IDs following the pattern: {original_org_id}-w-{workspace_name}

The workspace organization has:

  • is_workspace: true
  • parent_org_id: original organization ID

Users access workspaces through their membership in the parent organization. Only admin users can create workspaces.

  • Base URL: https://app.getdot.ai (the document declares no server; this is the origin it was published from)

  • Auth: one of:
    • API key in header X-API-KEY
    • API key in cookie Authorization
    • OAuth 2 (password, token URL /api/auth/token)

Name of the workspace to create

display_namestring nullable

Optional human-friendly display name shown in the UI

copy_org_databoolean

Whether to copy organization data to workspace

source_workspace_idstring nullable

Source workspace org_id to copy data from (defaults to parent org)

clone_request_idstring nullable

Client-minted per-attempt nonce (e.g. a UUID) used to build a unique clone-progress log id; ignored when copy_org_data is false. Must match ^[A-Za-z0-9_-]{1,64}$.
