Store the feedback, then email a copy.

The sender is thanked as soon as the row is written. The email failing is ours to read in the log and never the sender's problem: somebody took the time to write to us, and answering them with a 500 is the worst possible reply. That is not hypothetical; it is what this route did for nine months.
