user_idstring nullable

Stable identifier of the related user resource.

workspace_idstring nullable

Optional, mirroring the producer. A span arrives with whatever resource attributes its client stamped and nothing obliges one to name a workspace, so otel::TraceSummary omits this field for an unattributed trace rather than emitting a bodyless "workspace_" handle.

It was a required String here while the producer was already omitting it, so every list or detail read whose page contained one unattributed trace failed to deserialize — and TraceViewError::Decode was reported as traces_unavailable, a 503 "retry later" for a condition no retry could clear. /spans and traces/stats/query kept working, which is what made it look like an outage rather than a shape mismatch.

content_statestring nullable

The content plane's verdict: none | present | deleted (tombstoned — "content removed", a different fact from "no content") | error (the plane could not answer; the structural detail is still complete). Absent from deployments that predate the plane — additive.
