Jobs

Submit a finetuning job

Train a model with a finetuning tool (the tools GET /tools and GET /tools/{name}/schema mark finetune: true, e.g. chemprop-finetune). The body is /submit-job's with ONE difference: the tool is named by model instead of type. Every other field /submit-job accepts is accepted here with the same meaning, and auth, validation, spending checks and every response are /submit-job's own — this route runs the same submit path.

To train the next VERSION of a model you have access to, set settings.parentModelId to its id (from GET /finetuned-models). Every finetuning tool whose worker records lineage accepts it; a tool that does not refuses it as an unknown setting, and a parent you cannot access, or one trained with a different tool, is refused with a plain-text 400. proteus is the notable exclusion: it registers no model at all, so there is nothing to version from.

Submit finetuning tools here rather than to /submit-job (and batches of them to /finetune-batch rather than /submit-batch): those may refuse them with 400 use_finetune_endpoint.

Request

  • Base URL: https://app.tamarind.bio
  • URL: https://app.tamarind.bio/api/finetune
  • Auth: API key in header x-api-key

Request body

jobNameJobName required(unresolved $ref)
modelstring required

The finetuning tool to run — a tool listed with finetune: true. Exact and case-sensitive, like type on /submit-job.

typestring

Do not send. Accepted only when it equals model; any other value is refused with type_model_mismatch.

settingsSettings required(unresolved $ref)
projectTagstring

An organization project to tag the job(s) with — its project id, or its name. Applies to the whole batch on /submit-batch, and to every job a pipeline creates on /submit-pipeline. Usually optional. It is REQUIRED when your organization has turned on "require a project tag": those accounts get 400 on any submission that does not resolve to an ORGANIZATION project (a personal project does not satisfy the policy). That 400 body carries availableProjects — the projects you may use — so you can retry without looking them up elsewhere.

Response

Identical to /submit-job: a PLAIN TEXT body, <jobName> submitted to queue., carrying the normalized job name to poll.
