Get Daily Users

Get daily new vs returning users for a date range.

Migration Note:

  • Previously computed in frontend via computeDailyDauFromTable
  • Now calculated in PostgreSQL for performance and consistency
  • Uses table-based DAU (join_date + last_signed_in columns)

Definitions:

  • New user: User whose join_date (UTC) matches the date
  • Returning user: User whose last_signed_in (UTC) matches the date AND join_date != last_signed_in

Platform Handling:

  • Includes ALL platforms (WEB, MOBILE, NULL)
  • Frontend can filter if needed

Timezone:

  • All timestamps converted to UTC at database level
  • Ensures consistent daily splits regardless of user location

Query Parameters:

  • start_date: ISO date string (YYYY-MM-DD), defaults to 30 days ago
  • end_date: ISO date string (YYYY-MM-DD), defaults to today

Returns: Array of daily stats: [ { "date": "2026-01-01", "new_users": 45, "returning_users": 12 }, ... ]
