Subsurface Velocity Profile

Invert a dispersion curve for a 1D shear-wave velocity profile.

Uses iterative linearized inversion to recover a depth-dependent Vs profile from the measured dispersion curve. Returns layer thicknesses, velocities, and misfit statistics.

Parameters (JSON body):

  • dispersion_curve : dict -- Dispersion data with periods and velocities (required)
  • max_depth_km : float -- Maximum inversion depth in km (optional, default 50)
  • n_layers : int -- Number of layers in model (optional)
