Spanish Era (Era Hispanica) (西班牙紀元)

THE SPANISH ERA (Era Hispanica) — the year-count of medieval Iberia: for a thousand years the charters, tombstones and law codes of the Visigothic and medieval kingdoms were dated not Anno Domini but ERA — a count from 1 January 38 BC, exactly 38 ahead of the Christian era (AD 903 = Era 941, the textbook anchor, asserted). When the Cid's charters carry a year, this is the year they carry. THE ORIGIN IS A GENUINE MYSTERY SERVED AS ONE: nobody knows why 38 BC — Isidore of Seville derived 'era' from aes (bronze) and Augustus' general tax on Hispania, the era's Arabic name in al-Andalus (taʾrīkh al-ṣufr) has been read as 'the Bronze Era,' and a rival theory starts it from an Easter table; all named, none crowned. THE STAGGERED DEATHS ARE THE LAWS: Catalonia abolished it in 1180, Aragon 1350, Valencia 1358, Castile 1383 (the Cortes of Segovia — its decree ending Era 1421 to begin AD 1383, the twin asserted), Navarre ~1410, Portugal LAST in 1422 — strict order proven, and any date returns WHICH realms still used the count. Served only within the era's documentary life, refused outside. Christian becomes five systems. Pure compute, no LLM.
