Sanjūbanshin (三十番神 Thirty Guardians) (三十番神)

THE SANJŪBANSHIN (三十番神) — the thirty guardian deities of the lunar month: one kami on watch each day, a rotation first enshrined by Saichō on Mount Hiei, carried into Kyoto's devotion by the Nichiren school, claimed by Yoshida Shintō, BANNED briefly in the Meiji separation of kami and buddhas, and kept today in Nichiren-shū temples as guardians of the Lotus Sutra. Day 1 is Atsuta's watch; day 10 belongs to Amaterasu herself; days 17–21 are ALL seats of Hiyoshi Taisha — the five Sannō shrines at Hiei's foot, the rotation's Tendai birthmark, asserted at load as the set's structural fingerprint. TWO WITNESSES ACROSS RECENSIONS: the Nichiren table (the Shintō Taii and Shūgaishō concurring) against the independent record of the palace-guarding set — day-for-day agreement — with history's roughly TEN thirty-deity sets NAMED and the living one served. The lunar day rides the almanac's own engine, anchored to the published Chinese New Year 2026 new moon; short months (the thirtieth guardian waits) and the solar 31st-day 五番善神 accommodation stated. Japanese becomes twenty-two systems. Pure compute, no LLM.
