Nine Star Ki Directions (方位) (九星気学 方位)

Nine Star Ki Directional Divination (方位取り) — the practical, most-used layer of Kyusei Kigaku. For a given date it builds the ANNUAL chart (年盤): the nine Ki stars arranged across the eight directions, the year's star in the centre (the Lo-Shu magic square rotated to the year star; the Nine-Star year turns at 立春, computed from the Sun's longitude — not Jan 1). It then marks the afflicted directions to avoid — 五黄殺 (where the 5-Yellow star sits), 暗剣殺 (opposite it), 歳破 (opposite the year's zodiac-branch direction) — and, given a birthdate, the PERSONAL 本命殺 (where your own birth star sits) and 本命的殺 (opposite). Each direction also carries the five-element relation between its star and your birth star, surfacing the year-level candidate auspicious directions. Deterministic Lo-Shu arithmetic, gold-locked against the published 2024 (三碧) chart. Honest: the annual chart and afflictions are exact, but a full 方位取り also consults the monthly chart (月盤); symbolic, not travel/medical/legal/financial advice.
