Ottoman Rumi Calendar (奧斯曼魯米曆)
THE OTTOMAN RUMI CALENDAR — the empire's civil and fiscal time from the Tanzimat to Atatürk: the JULIAN calendar in Ottoman dress, the year opening on 1 MART, its number seeded from the Hijra (adopted AH 1256 = 1840) but run SOLAR ever after — drifting from the lunar Hijri each generation while staying exactly 584 years behind the Common Era. Salary days, tax rolls and birth records ran on it: Mustafa Kemal's official birth year is Rumi 1296. THE FEBRUARY 1917 JUMP IS THE CENTERPIECE, a load law: 15 ŞUBAT 1332 (Gregorian 28 February 1917) was followed DIRECTLY by 1 MART 1333 — thirteen Julian days swallowed AND the year advanced early, leaving 1332 a year of ten and a half months; two consecutive Gregorian days, a year apart in Rumi, the frames switching mid-stride (both asserted). Abolished by the law of 26 Kânûn-ı Evvel 1341 — 26 December 1925, itself a Rumi date, asserted — with the March fiscal year outliving the calendar in Turkish public finance for decades. Served ONLY within its actual life (1840–1925), refused beyond its grave. Islamic becomes eight systems. Pure compute, no LLM.
