User

List Users

Retrieves a paginated list of users.

Only non-deleted users are returned. Deactivated users (with a non-null deactivated_at) are still included. Users are ordered by created_at ascending (oldest first).

Licenses: Each user has exactly one license that determines their overall access level:

  • standard - Normal license with access to most of the Workpath platform
  • analyst - Power-user license with access to reports, insights, and summaries with filtering options
  • viewer - Read-only access; can view Goals but cannot create or update them

Roles: Users can have zero, one, or multiple roles that grant additional permissions:

  • super_admin - Administrator with full platform permissions including managing integrations
  • program_lead - Responsible for program roll-out, can manage users, teams, Goal Cycles, and assign Coaches
  • coach - Can be assigned to teams to support them, create and edit Goals (but not update progress/status)

Response includes:

  • User details (email, name, external_id, timestamps)
  • license - User's license type
  • roles - Array of additional roles (may be empty)
  • business_units - Business Units the user belongs to (may be empty)
  • deactivated_at - Timestamp if user is deactivated, null if active
  • last_active_at - Timestamp when user was last active, null if no activity has been recorded

status'active' | 'invited' | 'deactivated' required

Mirrors the user status shown in the Workpath user settings UI (https://your-account.workpath.com/settings/users):

  • deactivated — deactivated_at is set.
  • invited — the user has an outstanding invitation and has not yet completed their first login.
  • active — otherwise.

Use status instead of deriving buckets from deactivated_at / last_active_at, so your reporting matches what end users see in Workpath.

license'standard' | 'analyst' | 'viewer' required

What the user can do in Workpath: standard users work with Goals, Key Results and Initiatives; viewer users can only view and follow them; analyst users additionally get access to reports.

rolesstring[] required

Additional responsibilities: super_admin users administer the customer's Workpath account, program_lead users run the goal-setting program, and coach users help teams draft their Goals. A user can have zero, one or several roles.
