Create a Inventory Item

Creates a new Inventory Item.

Optional hardware block links the new item to a Monitoring device:

  • hardware: { link_to_existing: <monitoring_id> } — link to an existing device.
  • hardware: { title, monitoring_group, ... } — create a new Monitoring device atomically (requires the monitoring module).

When hardware is supplied the response includes the resulting monitoring_id.
