Look up a domain's citations in an industry

How often the AI answers in this industry cited one domain over the window: the number of citations, its rank among cited domains, its share of all citations, and the brands most often named alongside it. Pass a bare domain in the path, or a full URL in url, which takes precedence; resolved reports the host as queried and the base domain it was matched to. A domain that was never cited returns 200 with cited false, not a 404. Reads are limited to the public catalogue and your organization's own industry. Requires the GEO product.

Path parameters

idstring uuid required

The industry's id — from GET /org/industries, or your organization's own industry.

domainstring required

The domain to look up, e.g. nerdwallet.com. The segment is required even when url is supplied.

Query parameters

urlstring

A full URL to look up instead of the path domain. Takes precedence when supplied.

fromstring date

Start of the window (inclusive), YYYY-MM-DD. Defaults to 30 days before today.

tostring date

End of the window (inclusive), YYYY-MM-DD. Defaults to today. Must not precede from, and the window may span at most 90 days; otherwise a 400.

modelsstring

Comma-separated AI models to include — any of gpt-4.1, chatgpt, perplexity, aioverview, gemini, linkup, claude-sonnet-4-6, and grok. Omit for all models; an unknown value is a 400.

locationstring

Restrict to answers collected for one location, using the value the industry's runs record — a country code such as US, or a country/region pair such as US/California. Omit to sum every location.

Response

The domain's citation standing in the industry over the window.

citedboolean required

Whether any answer in the window cited the domain.

citation_referencesinteger required

How many times the domain was cited.

rank_in_industryinteger required

The domain's position among cited domains.

notesstring[] required

Caveats about this result. Empty when there are none.

definitionsobject required

A plain-language definition of each metric, keyed by field name.
