Look up a brand in an industry by name

Everything about one brand in the industry over the window, found by fuzzy name match and merged across spelling variants: mention rate, share of voice, average position, rank, sentiment, the most-cited domain, and a per-model breakdown. A brand the answers never named returns 200 with mentioned false and null metrics, not a 404. A name never seen before is registered, so the response always carries a stable brand_id; use GET /org/industries/{id}/brands-by-id/{brand_id} for repeat calls. Reads are limited to the public catalogue and your organization's own industry. Requires the GEO product.

Path parameters

idstring uuid required

The industry's id — from GET /org/industries, or your organization's own industry.

brandstring required

The brand name to look up. Matching is fuzzy and merges known spelling variants.

Query parameters

fromstring date

Start of the window (inclusive), YYYY-MM-DD. Defaults to 30 days before today.

tostring date

End of the window (inclusive), YYYY-MM-DD. Defaults to today. Must not precede from, and the window may span at most 90 days; otherwise a 400.

modelsstring

Comma-separated AI models to include — any of gpt-4.1, chatgpt, perplexity, aioverview, gemini, linkup, claude-sonnet-4-6, and grok. Omit for all models; an unknown value is a 400.

locationstring

Restrict to answers collected for one location, using the value the industry's runs record — a country code such as US, or a country/region pair such as US/California. Omit to sum every location.

Response

The brand's standing in the industry over the window.

mentionedboolean required

Whether any answer in the window named the brand.

notesstring[] required

Caveats about this result. Empty when there are none.

definitionsobject required

A plain-language definition of each metric, keyed by field name.
