Downgrade Subscription

Downgrade to a lower plan at end of current billing period.

IMPORTANT: This is different from cancel!

  • Cancel: User goes to Free plan, subscription ends.
  • Downgrade: User switches to a lower PAID plan (Premium → Pro).

Business Rules:

  • Premium can downgrade to Pro (scheduled for end of period)
  • Pro CANNOT downgrade further (use /cancel instead)
  • User keeps current plan benefits until period ends
  • At period end, new plan pricing kicks in
post/payments/downgrade
