Resolves a gate session or registers an anonymous chat user
Changed onReturns the existing user's identity and access token when a verified auth.gate session is present. Otherwise creates an anonymous chat user. A session whose user is missing or disabled is rejected without creating an anonymous user. The proposed display name is ignored for gate sessions.
