Import and Export

Download the Document as a PDF

This operation downloads the latest version of the document with annotations as a PDF file.

If the query parameter source=true is included in the request, the originally uploaded version will be fetched instead.

Additionally, you can download the flattened version of the file by providing flatten=true query parameter. Note, however, that source and flatten can't be used at the same time.

To download a PDF/A conformant document, include the type=pdfa query parameter. You can also specify the conformance of the PDF/A file by specifying the conformance=pdfa-1a query parameter.

Query parameters

type'pdf' | 'pdfa'

Use this option to determine the format of the downloaded PDF file

sourceboolean

If set to true, the originally uploaded version of the PDF file will be fetched. The remaining properties are mutually exclusive with this property.

flattenboolean

Determines whether a flattened version of the PDF file will be downloaded. If set to true, the resulting PDF file will have its annotations burned into the document and will have no annotations.

render_ap_streamsboolean

If set to true, the resulting PDF file will have its custom AP streams rendered into the document.

annotationsboolean

If set to true, annotations will be included in the downloaded file.

commentsboolean

If set to true, comments will be included in the downloaded file.

grayscaleTextboolean
grayscaleGraphicsboolean
grayscaleImagesboolean
grayscaleFormFieldsboolean
grayscaleAnnotationsboolean
disableImagesboolean
mrcCompressionboolean
imageOptimizationQualityinteger
linearizeboolean

If set to true, the resulting PDF file will be linearized. This means that the document will be optimized in a special way that allows it to be loaded faster over the network. You need the Linearization feature to be enabled in your Nutrient Document Engine license in order to use this option.

If set, the resulting PDF file will be optimized according to the provided options.

conformance'pdfa-1a' | 'pdfa-1b' | 'pdfa-2a' | 'pdfa-2u' | 'pdfa-2b' | 'pdfa-3a' | 'pdfa-3u'

Specify the conformance level of the PDF/A file. Requires the type parameter to be present and equal to pdfa.

keep_signaturesboolean

If set to false, the signatures and form fields will get flattened in the resulting PDF. Defaults to true.

Headers

pspdfkit-pdf-passwordstring

The PDF document password.

The value can be either a plain-text password or a base64 encoded password in a form base64:<encoded-password>. Use the Base64 encoding if your password contains characters that are not allowed in HTTP header or would be otherwise mangled (e.g. trailing or leading spaces)

If the document is password protected, any operations performed on it require supplying a password.

Response

Document Engine responded with the PDF file
