Self-verification of an L4-N citation against the in-force legislation corpus
Parses the citation ('Companies Act 1967, Section 157A', 'Art. 1902 CC'), looks up the canonical text in force on the date and optionally compares it against claim_text (Jaccard). Cost: 0 LLM. Returns one of: verified | mismatch | not_found | derogated | pending | not_verifiable (jurisdiction with no verification corpus wired up).

Verification result. consultado_a_fecha is the date you asked about and is always present. vigente_a_fecha carries a date ONLY when the lookup for that jurisdiction was bounded by it and returned a live version — otherwise it is null, which means the in-force status was NOT checked (the provision may still exist and the text still be the official one). Changed 2026-08-06: it used to echo the requested date unconditionally, including on not_verifiable responses, so it promised a check that several jurisdictions never ran. vigencia_status (in_force | repealed | …) and status_evidence (corpus_flag | source_removed_text | none) are optional and say what was established and on what evidence — a repeal proven by the source removing the text is not the same as one nobody could confirm.
