Verbatim text of an article in force on a given date

Returns the verbatim text of an article of legislation in force on the requested date. Supports verbatim quotation and point-in-time lookups as of the date of the facts. How an instrument is named depends on the jurisdiction, and norma is validated accordingly. Spain: the BOE id (BOE-A-1889-4763); indexed 100% (national BOE + 17 autonomous communities, 1851→2026). United Kingdom: the short title as it is cited (Companies Act 2006, The Working Time Regulations 1998) or the instrument id (ukpga_2006_46, uksi_1998_1833); 695,446 provisions of Acts and Statutory Instruments. Jurisdictions without an indexed corpus return 200 with data: null + an explanatory note.

Identifier of the instrument, in the form its jurisdiction uses. Spain: BOE id (BOE-A-1889-4763). United Kingdom: short title (Companies Act 2006) or instrument id (ukpga_2006_46). A 400 VALIDATION_ERROR states the accepted form for the jurisdiction you asked about.

Provision number. United Kingdom: a section/regulation number (172) or a Schedule paragraph (sch4-3). A bare Schedule 4 is refused with a note — Schedules are indexed paragraph by paragraph, so it does not identify one provision.

ISO YYYY-MM-DD. Default: today.

ISO code. REQUIRED (this parameter or its jurisdiccion alias) — no default (400 MISSING_JURISDICTION if both are missing, v1.28). Takes precedence over the alias if both are sent.

Response

Article found, or data: null + note when we do not hold it. consultado_a_fecha is the date you asked about; vigente_a_fecha carries a date only where the lookup is bounded by it (Spain) and is null otherwise — the United Kingdom register does not publish status in a way that allows it, so vigencia_status and status_evidence travel instead. A United Kingdom provision number that matches more than one provision of the instrument comes back as razon: "ambiguo" listing the candidates: 8,396 keys in that corpus match more than one article, and picking the first would be a coin toss dressed as precision.
