Create a new update group version (updates a mod file)

Creates a new version of an update group (tied to a mod file), the upload specified in the request becomes the most recent entry in the update chain.

Deprecated since 2026-06-11. Use "Create a new mod file version" (POST /mod-files/{id}/versions, operationId createModFileVersion) instead.

This endpoint is stable, so it remains available for a minimum 90-day deprecation period from the deprecation date: it will be removed on or after 2026-09-09.

Whether to show a requirements popup when downloading this file.

archive_existing_fileboolean

Whether to archive the existing file when uploading a new version.

previous_version_idstring nullable

The unique identifier for the mod file version this version is replacing.
