Hard ceiling, not just a default. Unbounded, this is .take(limit) on a two-join query over every contact the company has — an export primitive and a memory risk on a route that is otherwise cheap.

1000, not the dashboard's 100: the mobile app fetches its whole contact list in one call (contactService.getContacts sends limit=1000) and ships through the app stores on a manual release cadence, so installed clients cannot be updated in lockstep with the API. It is the same boundary POST /crm/bulk already uses for a batch.
