Query parameters
Entity or person name (partial match)
Alias for entity_name (accepted for backwards compatibility)
Alias for entity_name. Same name-search param as /entities/search and /companies/search, so a screening script can reuse it across endpoints.
UEI SAM identifier
Alias for uei_sam (the canonical name on every other endpoint)
CAGE code. Note: only ~0.3% of exclusion records carry one, so an empty result here means the field is absent, not that the entity is clear.
Excluding agency code or name substring (e.g., 'DOD', or 'DEFENSE LOGISTICS')
Classification: Individual, Firm, Vessel, Special Entity Designation. Case-insensitive; an unknown value returns 400 with the valid list.
Type: Prohibition/Restriction, Ineligible (Proceedings Completed), Ineligible (Proceedings Pending), Voluntary Exclusion. Case-insensitive; an unknown value returns 400 with the valid list. SAM stores both 'Proceedings Complete' and 'Proceedings Completed'; either input matches both.
State/province code
Country code. Unreliable for the sanctioned (OFAC) slice, where SAM codes many foreign entities as US or as the non-ISO bucket XUN, so a country filter can return a false-negative subset. Do not rely on it for sanctions screening.
Only show currently active exclusions
