OTel

Chart the OTel pipeline counters over time.

Changed on

/otel/pipeline-stats gives lifetime totals and /otel/ingest-errors gives failure reasons; this gives the shape over time — whether drops are a past incident that already recovered or an ongoing bleed, which a cumulative counter can never show.

Reads the delta series the background sampler writes to the shared metrics store (SourceKind::Node, node 0). Values are mean deltas per sample interval, not bucket totals — sample_interval_seconds in the response carries the unit so the client can label them.

System-scoped like the other two pipeline endpoints: these counters are process-wide, so there is no project parameter to scope by.

Query parameters

rangestring

Preset window: 1h | 6h | 24h | 7d (default 24h). Ignored when start_time and end_time are both set.

start_timestring

Explicit window start (RFC 3339); must be paired with end_time

end_timestring

Explicit window end (RFC 3339); must be paired with start_time

Response

Pipeline counter history

end_timestring required

Resolved window end (ISO 8601, Z).

sample_interval_secondsinteger required

Interval the sampler writes at, in seconds. The client needs this to label values honestly: a bucket is the mean delta per sample, so "events per sample_interval_seconds", not a bucket total.

start_timestring required

Resolved window start (ISO 8601, Z).

step_secondsinteger required

Bucket width actually used, in seconds. Server-derived from the window so a caller cannot request 1-minute buckets over 7 days.
