Call ads.spend_statement

Read this brand's fee-transparent ad statement for one month — 'what did we spend on ads last month?', 'show me our ad statement for August' — what they paid each ad platform directly, and what they paid us, as TWO SEPARATE FIGURES. ⚠️ Always report the two separately and NEVER add them together or quote a combined total: the split is a compliance requirement, not a formatting preference, and their ad budget never passes through us. Set produce_if_missing to build a statement for a complete past month that has none yet; that is idempotent and spends nothing. The downloadable copy lives on the Ad statements page. Not for where the account's credits went — that is billing.usage_summary.

Every result names the workspace it ran in. Say which workspace the answer is about. When the account has more than one workspace and none is selected, this tool refuses with workspace_ambiguous and lists the choices — offer them, never pick one.

Headers

x-request-idstring

Your own id for this request, echoed back and recorded on the audit trail. 1–128 characters from A–Z a–z 0–9 . _ : -, starting with a letter or digit; anything else is replaced by a generated id.

Request body

periodstring nullable

The month, as YYYY-MM (e.g. 2026-03). Omit it for the most recent period this brand has a statement for. Only a COMPLETE past month can have a statement — the month in progress cannot, because its figures are still moving.

produce_if_missingboolean

Produce the statement when that period has none yet. Safe to repeat: producing the same period again reproduces the same figures rather than creating a second statement. Leave it off to simply report that no statement exists.

workspacestring

Which workspace to run in — its slug. Omit to use your default. With more than one reachable workspace and no default, the call is refused and the choices are listed.

Response

The call was admitted and dispatched. ok says whether the tool succeeded — a refusal the tool itself produced is still a 200, exactly as it is a successful JSON-RPC result over MCP.
