Nyepi (Balinese Day of Silence) (峇里靜居日)

NYEPI — the Balinese Day of Silence, the Saka new year, when an entire island stops: no fire, no work, no travel, no light; even the airport closes for the day. Served GAZETTE-CLASS (the Matariki/KASI precedent): the officially observed dates 2023–2028, EVERY year double-sourced from independent holiday authorities, with years beyond the table REFUSED rather than extrapolated — because the Balinese Saka calendar's pengalantaka reckoning and its intercalation (nampih sasih) belong to Bali's Hindu authorities, not to an ephemeris, and the observed dates prove it: 2025's Nyepi fell ON the astronomical new-moon day, 2024's the day AFTER. Instead of asserting a rule the tradition doesn't keep, the engine proves the honest astronomy law at load: every tabled Nyepi lies within one day of a real new moon at Bali (astronomy-engine), the Saka era identity holds on every row (CE − 78; Nyepi 2024 opened Saka 1946), and the year gaps are lunar (354/355, or 383/384 across an intercalation — both patterns present and named). Each year serves the full festival sequence — Melasti, Pengrupukan with the ogoh-ogoh, the Catur Brata Penyepian of Nyepi itself, and Ngembak Geni. Pairs with pawukon.date: a Balinese date lives in both calendars at once. Indonesian becomes a three-system tradition. Pure computation, no LLM.
