Maramataka Nights (毛利月曆之夜)

The nights of the Māori lunar month, served the way the tradition's own experts insist — as ONE NAMED IWI LINEAGE, not a pan-Māori composite: the Ngāti Kahungunu sequence recorded by Elsdon Best (1918/1929, via Rev. Metara Te Aomarere, credited to Mita Te Tai), thirty nights from Whiro to Mutuwhenua with their verbatim observations (Ōuenuku: get to work! A good night for eeling; Tangaroa-kiokio: an excellent day for fishing). Corpus laws load-asserted (30 unique nights; the Korekore and Tangaroa runs in place; Rākau-nui at the full). Date mode resolves the night from the astronomical new moon anchored to the NZ evening — with the observational tradition and the recorded Whiro dark-vs-crescent dispute DISCLOSED, not decided — and the Lincoln survey's finding (44 published maramataka, 29–32 nights, Whiro- and Rākaunui-start iwi both) carried in every payload: the maramataka is local, and local mātauranga governs. Pairs with matariki.dates, whose statutory Tangaroa-of-Pipiri method rides these very nights.
