Buddhist Era (พ.ศ.・බුද්ධ වර්ෂ) (佛曆紀元)

THE BUDDHIST ERA — one epoch, four national clocks: the era counts from the Buddha’s parinibbāna, but the Buddhist world never agreed on the arithmetic — Thailand, Cambodia and Laos reckon the parinibbāna year as YEAR ZERO (543 BCE), Sri Lanka and Myanmar as YEAR ONE (544 BCE), so the same instant carries two year-numbers one apart. THE JUBILEE SPLIT asserted at load: the 2,500th anniversary fell at Vesak 1956 in Colombo, Rangoon and Delhi but in 1957 in Bangkok — the same jubilee celebrated a year apart, both programmes in the record. THE 1941 THAI REFORM as gazette anchor: the Calendar Years Act, B.E. 2483, moved the new year from 1 April to 1 January, so B.E. 2483 ran exactly 275 days (asserted), and pre-1941 January-to-March dates carry the fossil offset +542 (asserted). THE VESAK TURN proven against the poya engine’s gazetted tables (eve agrees with Thailand, the day splits one ahead — all four years); Cambodia delegated to the verified Khmer engine; and THE APRIL GHOST: the temple reckoning (CS + 1181) lags the civil count by one from 1 January to Songkran, every year — the abolished year still counting inside the catalogue’s own Thai lunisolar engine. Refusal-as-design in the ungazetted May–June window. Thai becomes four. Pure compute, no LLM.
