Amazigh Calendar & Yennayer (柏柏爾曆)
THE AMAZIGH (BERBER) CALENDAR — North Africa's agrarian year: the JULIAN calendar, fossilized in the countryside of Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Libya centuries after the cities moved on, its twelve months still wearing their Latin names in Tamazight dress (Yennayer, Furar, Meghres, Ibrir, Mayyu, Yunyu, Yulyuz, Ghusht, Shutanbir, Ktuber, Nwanbir, Dujanbir — Ianuarius through December, loaned from Roman Africa and never given back). THE THREE YENNAYERS, disclosed as the recension landscape they are: Algeria's OFFICIAL public holiday fixed at 12 January (decreed 2017, first celebrated 2018) — a frozen Gregorian date; Morocco and Libya's traditional 13 January — the 1800s Julian gap, fossilized; and strict Julian reckoning's 14 January (a LAW here on the shared Julian machinery, 1901–2100, moving to the 15th in 2101 — the drift is the story). THE ERA IS MODERN AND SAYS SO: counting from 950 BC (Shoshenq I, the Libyan pharaoh) was adopted by the Académie Berbère in the 1960s — identity, not antiquity, labeled as such; 2026 = Aseggas 2976, asserted from the January 2026 press. The llyali black nights and ssmaym dog days served as the folk seasons they are. African becomes seven systems. Pure compute, no LLM.
