Update Contact

Update a contact's name, label or phone number.

Only include the fields you want to change; the old values are overwritten. Send label as null or "" to clear it. Changing phone_number to one another contact of this agent already has returns HTTP 409 with that contact_id.

Returns the updated contact (id, agent_id, name, label, phone_number, created_at, updated_at).

Contact ID (con_...) from create_contact or list_contacts.

Replacement name for the contact, e.g. 'Dr. Patel'. Omit to keep the current name.

phone_numberstring nullable

Replacement phone number with a leading + and country code, e.g. '+12125551234'; formatting characters are removed. Omit to keep the current number.

labelstring nullable

Replacement purpose or relationship, e.g. 'dentist'. Send null or an empty string to remove the label; omit to keep it.
