Discover Worth The Trip

Activities worth travelling beyond the user's chosen radius.

The WorthTripScore engine (beyond_radius_service) applies safety gates, social signal enrichment, dismissal penalties, and a 1.5x qualifying threshold (must beat the in-radius median score). Returns at most 3. Section hides entirely when empty — never shows weak filler.

Radius-aware logic per the user's requirement:

  • Regular activities: respect radius_km (shown only within it on the home feed)
  • Travel-worthy activities: appear here regardless of radius, surfacing only when their score genuinely exceeds the in-radius median by the multiplier.
