Retrieve Card Transaction

Retrieves a single card transaction from any card the owner has ever had, including canceled cards. Team members can retrieve only transactions on the cards assigned to them.

Query parameters

account_idstring

The account that owns the transaction, prefixed biz_. Provide this or user_id. Defaults to the credential's account.

user_idstring

The user that owns the transaction, prefixed user_. Provide this or account_id. Only that user can read it.

card_idstring required

The card this transaction was charged to, prefixed icrd_.

cardholder_idstring nullable required

The user the card is assigned to, prefixed user_. Null when the card has no assigned cardholder.

cashback_usd_amountnumber nullable required

Cashback earned on this transaction as a USD amount. Zero for declined or ineligible transactions, and null when cashback has not been computed yet.

created_atstring required

When the transaction was authorized, as an ISO 8601 timestamp.

currencystring nullable required

ISO 4217 currency code the merchant charged in.

declined_reasonstring nullable required

Why the transaction was declined. Null unless status is declined.

idstring required

Card transaction ID, prefixed citx_.

internationalboolean required

True when the merchant is outside the card's home country.

local_amountnumber nullable required

Amount the merchant charged in their own currency. Pair with currency.

merchant_categorystring nullable required

Merchant category label, enriched where available and otherwise as the card network reported it.

merchant_category_codestring nullable required

Four-digit ISO 18245 merchant category code (MCC).

merchant_icon_urlstring nullable required

URL of the enriched merchant logo. Null when no logo was matched.

merchant_namestring nullable required

Merchant name, enriched where available and otherwise as the card network reported it.

posted_atstring nullable required

When the card network settled the transaction, as an ISO 8601 timestamp. Null until it settles.

status'pending' | 'completed' | 'reversed' | 'declined' required

Current status of the transaction.

transaction_type'spend' required

The kind of card transaction. Always spend today.

usd_amountnumber nullable required

Amount charged in USD. Negative when the merchant refunded the card.
