Generate Product Card with Vehicle Compatibility for Rim

Changed on

This endpoint generates the product card for a specific rim, providing compatibility information about various vehicles. The output includes vehicle make, model, generation, and production years, which allows clients to enrich the product page by displaying compatible vehicle options where the rim can be installed.

2D Frontspace/Backspace filtering: Compatibility is determined using a 2D geometric filter on both frontspace (hub-to-outer-lip) and backspace (hub-to-inner-lip). OEM wheel pairs must have FS and BS greater than or equal to the searched rim's values minus the tolerance (fs_poke / bs_push in mm). The safe direction (more tuck for FS, more retract for BS) is uncapped.

Each result includes fs_delta_mm (positive = poke toward fender) and bs_delta_mm (positive = deeper toward suspension) showing how much the searched rim differs from the OEM fitment.

Note that in some cases, additional components such as spacers or special bolts/nuts may be required for proper installation. It is recommended to check fitment by placing the rims on the vehicle and verifying they do not interfere with the brake caliper or extend beyond the wheel arch.

Query parameters

bolt_patternstring required
Example:5x114.3

Bolt pattern is expressed as the number of lugs by the diameter of an imaginary circle formed by the centers of the wheel lugs. You can use GET /by_rim/bp/ to get a list of available value values. (e.g. 5x114.3)

rim_diameternumber double required
Example:18

Rim diameter is the distance measured in inches across the face of the wheel, from bead seat to bead seat. You can use GET /by_rim/rd/ to get a list of available value values. (e.g. 19)

rim_widthnumber double required
Example:7.5

Rim width is the distance measured in inches from bead seat to bead seat. You can use GET /by_rim/rw/ to get a list of available value values. (e.g. 7.5)

rim_offsetnumber double required
Example:35

Rim offset is a distance between wheel mounting surface where it is bolted to hub and the centerline of rim. You can use GET /by_rim/of/ to get a list of available value values. (e.g. 38)

cbnumber double

Centre bore value, mm (e.g. 60)

fdnumber double

The fd parameter represents the diameter of the wheel fastener threads, measured in millimeters (mm). This parameter is essential for ensuring a secure fit of the wheel's bolts or lug nuts. For a list of possible values and additional details, please refer to the Thread Size ISO and UN Series Glossary on Wheel-Size.com. (e.g. 14)

fs_pokeinteger

Frontspace poke tolerance in mm. 0 = exact or safer only (no poke). Default: 2. (e.g. 2)

bs_pushinteger

Backspace push tolerance in mm. 0 = exact or safer only (no push). Default: 2. (e.g. 2)

rim_bst_frominteger

[Deprecated] Mapped to bs_push. Use bs_push instead.

rim_bst_tointeger

[Deprecated] Safe direction is now uncapped. Mapped to bs_push if sent alone. Use fs_poke/bs_push instead.

od_tolerancenumber double

Percentage adjustment for the overall diameter tolerance range (0–5%), where default is 1%.

ow_tolerancenumber double

Percentage adjustment for the overall width tolerance range (0–3%), where default is 0%.

diameter_rangeinteger

Widen rim diameter search window by ±N inches. 0 = exact match only. Default: 0.

sort'name' | 'fitment' | 'load'

Sort order for results.

  • name — alphabetical by make/model (default)
  • fitment — closest frontspace delta first
  • load — heaviest load capacity first (nulls last) (e.g. name)
orderingstring

Comma-separated list without spaces. Supported field names: make, model

limitinteger

Maximum number of items to return (default 100, max 1000).

offsetinteger

Number of items to skip before collecting the result set.
