World Bank Poverty and Inequality

Poverty and inequality estimates from the World Bank's Poverty and Inequality Platform, country by year: the share of people below $3.00, $4.20 and $8.30 a day (2021 PPP), the poverty gap at each line, the Gini index, mean and median welfare, deciles, and the household survey behind each estimate. Filter by country_code (ISO3), year or year_from/year_to, reporting_level (national, urban, rural) and welfare_type (income, consumption). Served by Croma from its copy (as_of says how current the data is).

Dataset endpoint: answers from the whole source in milliseconds and carries as_of.

Headers

Idempotency-Keystring
Example:0f8e9a42-6b7c-4d1e-9a3f-2c5d7e8f9a0b

Optional client-chosen key for this request (any string up to 255 characters, e.g. a UUID). Every Croma operation is an idempotent lookup: repeating a request with the same body returns the same result and creates nothing, so retrying after a timeout or network failure is always safe. The key is echoed back in the Idempotency-Key response header so you can correlate a retry with its first attempt. Each attempt that reaches the API counts against the rate limit.

Request body

country_codestring

Optional three-letter ISO 3166-1 country code, e.g. COL, BRA, MEX.

yearinteger

Optional single year, e.g. 2024. 0 means every year.

year_frominteger

Optional first year of a range, e.g. 2015. 0 means no lower bound.

year_tointeger

Optional last year of a range, e.g. 2024. 0 means no upper bound.

reporting_level'' | 'national' | 'urban' | 'rural'

Optional coverage of the estimate: national, urban or rural. Some countries are covered by urban surveys only (Argentina), so leaving it empty returns every level.

Optional welfare measure the survey records: income (most of Latin America) or consumption.

pageinteger

1-based page number for paginated results.

per_pageinteger

Results per page (1-200).
