Get Trade Intensity
Trade Intensity (TI): how exposed an EU sector is to international trade — TI = (Imports + Exports) / (Imports + Production). Near 1 = highly trade-exposed; near 0 = predominantly domestic (the Commission's CEEAG methodology, used for carbon-leakage / State-aid eligibility). Annual, joining PRODCOM production with Comext trade data.
Streams NDJSON progress lines, then one result frame.
PRODCOM (the intra-EU production-statistics database) has its own nomenclature, separate from customs codes, with only partial correspondence tables. The mapping from a CN code resolves to a direct single match, a confidentiality fallback to the nearest available higher level, or a multi-match whose codes are aggregated (pin one with the prodcom_code body field). The response's self block reports a notes array and, when no series can be produced, an unavailability_type:
- 'no_mapping' — no PRODCOM correspondence; no production statistics.
- 'selection_required' — several mapped codes, some suppressed; choose one.
- 'suppressed' — Eurostat publishes nothing for the mapped codes nor their immediate parents.
- 'no_data' — mapped, but Eurostat returns no data yet.
- 'not_applicable' — the 'TOTAL' meta-aggregate has no PRODCOM equivalent.
The self block (single mode) and each children entry carry the full data[measure][basis] matrix (value/quantity × total/own/sub); the frontend selects which variant to plot.
